Plan and Prepare a Red and Green Meal - carsondereter
We have been doing an body process Advent calendar for umpteen years, and even though my girls are now 11 and 13, they still love this annual tradition. To keep this mama rational, most of the activities are super-easy, no-prep things, like drinking hot hot chocolate with toppings, movie dark, going out for dessert, and fashioning paper snowflakes.
Unmatched of our deary activities from last year was planning and preparing a festive red and green meal. We have to wipe out dinner in any case, thusly this is not overmuch extra work! We set the table with red and green dishes, and dined on pasta with marinara, tortellini with pesto, cooked broccoli, red and green apple slices, and cranberry juice. They loved creating this fun meal from start to finish, and we'Ra definitely doing information technology again this yr!

I think my kids' favorite part of the red and ill repast is the brainstorming! They got a big piece of paper and traded every red and leafy vegetable food they could remember. We shy away from artificial colors near of the clock, thus we adjusted on naturally colored foods. There are plenty!

I highly recommend letting your kids think of their personal list of foods for this meal. But, for inspiration and light suggesting, if needful, present are roughly of the food ideas we came upbound with:
Main Dishes:
- pasta with marinara and/or pesto
- pizza pie with red and green toppings (tomatoes, spinach, peppers, pepperoni, etc.)
- enchiladas with red and green sauces
- soup – love apple, cream of broccoli, vegetable soup
Fruits & Veggies:
- strawberries
- apples
- kiwi
- cranberries
- tomatoes
- broccoli
- courgette
- green beans
- avocado/guacamole
- salsa
- a big salad!
Drinks:
- cranberry juice
- dark-green smoothies
Work together with your kids to prepare the meal. Or, if you have more fully fledged young chefs, model back and wait to personify served!

It's merriment to set a festive table, too! Gather any red and green dishes you have, or pick up few holiday paper plates at the fund. I love that this meal is some festal and healthy. A win-win!
